Approximately half of the remaining 21 Lakewood primary girls who were still not placed in schools have been placed as of this morning, Askonim told TLS.
Earlier this week, TLS exclusively reported that there was talk amongst the Roshei Yeshiva and Askonim to keep girls elementary schools shut unless the students were placed.
B”H, the schools took the announcement very seriously, and a lot of movement and progress was made.
According to Askonim involved in the process, the number of girls who remained without placements had previously stood at approximately 60. Through extensive efforts by Askonim working directly with the schools, that number has now been reduced to 21.
As of this morning, Askonim say, approximately 10 girls still need to be placed, and they hope this will happen by the end of the week.
The schools really should not open until ALL of them are in school. My daughter is waiting since last year! Its ridiculous that we are still suffering.
What about the new school that opened on Chestnut St.?
I’m sorry to inject negativity into a positive article, but I want to know why are we torturing these girls and their families if they are being placed anyway?? Tears come to my eyes when I think of them. It almost seems childish that these girls weren’t place earlier if we know they will be placed in the end. And those girls who will have a place by the end of the week. WHY? Why can’t they be there for the first day of school?? I know the schools have valid reasons, in many cases, for not accepting some girls. I know they are strapped for space and funds. But please stop the suffering. If the girls will be in a school, please make that decision earlier.
I had the same question when my bus driver would make tight turns slowly…. You’re going to make it, you never end up backing up so why not do it fast the first time. The answer should be obvious…. The schools aren’t saying we’ll take this girl but let’s not say that yet. They genuinely don’t know the answer earlier. There is a lot that gos into the process, a lot to figure out, and it has to be figured out jointly between a bunch of schools, that takes time… and has been going on for a while hence why the number has slowly gone down. While some of us were on vacation mode they were working on bringing that number down. Let’s show some appreciation for that!

I can see your point when it’s way before school starts. I don’t fault the schools for not accepting some students right away. I know that there are many parts to this complicated machinery. But when we’re within a week or two before school starts, AND THE CHILD WILL BE ACCEPTED EVENTUALLY ANYWAY, why do we have to prolong the agony until the day before school starts or even have the child start school a few days late. We can eliminate this agony that the child and family go through by at least accepting him or her a week or two before school starts. This is heartbreaking!
I know that this is major that they got all these girls in, but why is it enough for the schools to open?? You know how damaging it is for a child to have to start school late?
Terrible . The child now has to go into a class that already started. Without them.
Someone should have opened a new school with that amount of girls without a school! Its enough for 2 classes!
Who exactly is that Someone ? Maybe you? Don’t forget reading this blog most people feel that those who opened schools are bad ,cruel people so why dont you who is a nice person, go open a school and prove them wrong .

What are people doing with insurance regarding ABA for a child that really needs it not a child who can use it? Should a bachor have to stay home cuz his school won’t take him with out insurance to cover the ABA?9

Local Schools Say They Employed King Solomon’s “Split the Baby in Half” Strategy When Assigning Half of Remaining Students to Schools
Lakewood school administrators are claiming that they relied on King Solomon’s “Split the baby in half” strategy when placing half of the remaining students – who had yet to be set up for the school year – in schools.
“We’ve concluded that by employing King Solomon’s ‘Split the baby in half’ strategy, ultimately all the remaining students will be placed in schools,” said veteran school administrator, Shlomo Gantzsholeym, “because you can’t split one indivisible unit into two – and let’s face it, all of our girls are essentially one, whole, unseperable and indivisible unit!”
School sources are reporting that one mother – whose daughter was among half of the students recently assigned to a school – pulled her daughter out of school today and emphatically told the principal, “I’m willing to pull my daughter out of school, if it means not splitting our daughters into two halves!”
According to additional sources, local askan, Dovid Tziburman, reportedly winked to a group of reporters today and stated: “If the other half of the students aren’t hooked up with a school soon, all of Lakewood’s parents will soon pull their daughters out of school! That’s what I call King Solomon’s ‘Split the baby in half’ strategy at its best’!”

In Moshe Rabenus time patents educated their children. They didnt expect others to do it for them
Even today it is a parents job to educate their child. Since not all parents have the time or ability ,ideally every town should tax the inhabitants to provide schools . But since our town does not do that , then every parent is on his own .
