UPDATE: Governor Murphy Subpoenaed Following Sheltering Migrant Claim

Interim U.S. attorney in New Jersey Alina Habba is investigating New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy for comments he made earlier this year claiming that he and his wife were sheltering a migrant in his house.

“I don’t want to get into too much detail, but there is someone in our broader universe whose immigration status is not yet at the point that they are trying to get it to. And we said, you know what? Let’s have her live at our house above our garage,” the term-limited governor said while talking with Blue Wave New Jersey, a progressive grassroots organization, last February.

“And good luck to the feds coming in to try to get her,” Murphy went on, possibly hinting that the person may be an illegal immigrant.

F.B.I. agents have since sought to interview at least four witnesses in connection with the comments, but have not questioned the governor or the first lady directly.

An aide to Murphy later clarified that the woman was in the United States legally and had never lived on the property.

In April, Habba said she was directing her office to investigate Murphy and state Attorney General Matthew Platkin over state policies that she said block immigration officials from attempting to detain people in the country illegally.

“Anyone who gets in our way will be charged in the state of New Jersey for obstruction, for concealment,” Habba said. “And I will come after them hard.”

It was a mistake to elect Pothead for governor. Rep. Ciattarelli would have been a much better choice.

he is the Governor, and is entitled to respect and authority accordingly, and to his interpretation of the law, this is how this country was established, the Governors were around before the Federal government was established and they were never challenged in public like this except in the civil war, which we do not want to watch a real live replay of those times.

His interpretation of the law, No thats not how it works, the courts make those decisions, elected officials dont get to decide on laws !

This is the same Alina who defended the leader of an insurrection and one who pardonned cop killers that participated in that violent insurrection.
