UPDATE: Following Complaints, Jackson School District Revises Bus Stop List

Following complaints from parents and and township officials from across Jackson regarding the safety of several bus stop placements, the Public School district has released a new list of revised bus stops for children receiving busing within the township.

In a letter to parents of children receiving nonpublic transportation, Kristopher Soto, the director of transportation for the Jackson School District, noted that after the district’s “productive collaboration with Jay’s Busing and Presidential Busing, the new stop will go into effect for today, Monday, September 18.”

The new changes come after many parents complained publicly about the lack of safety where the previous stops were placed, as well as a personal visit to some of the stops in question by Mayor Mike Reina, Councilwoman Jen Kuhn and a Jackson Police officer.

Following their visit, Jackson Police wrote a report summarizing their findings, which in addition to noting the danger associated with some of the stops, also noted that the stops were causing major traffic backups on some key roadways.
