The driver in last night’s overturn accident in Lakewood was charged with DUI, police said.

Just after 9 pm last night, Officers Julian Guzman and Eric Micallef were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident in the area of New Hampshire Avenue and South Street.

Upon arrival, the Officers located an overturned 2009 Toyota Highlander in the woods.

Trapped inside was the operator, 32-year-old Jessi Brito of Lakewood.

Extrication efforts by the Lakewood Fire Department, EMS and Hatzolah freed Brito a short time later.

He was then transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment of neck, shoulder and back pain.

Further investigation revealed that Brito was under the influence while operating his vehicle and was charged accordingly.
