The driver who crashed into a building on Squankum Road in Howell is in critical condition, Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced today.
On Sunday, at approximately 9:52 a.m., members of the Howell Township Police Department responded to the area of County Road 547 near the intersection of Oak Glen Road for a report of a motor vehicle that crashed into a building.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a female driver was traveling southbound on County Road 547 when she ran off the road to the right-hand side, over a concrete median island, into a parking lot and into the side of a business.
As a result, the driver was taken to a local hospital, where she is in critical condition, suffering from numerous injuries.
An investigation involving members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), and the Howell Township Police Department remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information about this matter is being asked to contact MCPO Detective Nicolas Logothetis at 800-533-7443 or Howell Township Police Department Patrolman Kyle Bush at 732-938-4111.
No charges or summonses have been issued with regard to the incident at this time.

How old was she? Was she driving under influence? Did she have some kind of medical episode while driving? How fast was she driving that a concrete median island wasn’t enough to stop her from crashing into a building…?
