The driver who caused last night’s head-on collision in Lakewood, was unlicensed, police told TLS.

At approximately 11:40 PM, Marx Martinez-Munoz, 26, of Howell, was driving north on New Hampshire Avenue when he crossed over the double yellow median and struck another vehicle (vehicle 2).

The driver of V2 said she was traveling south on New Hampshire Ave. and was approaching the bend when she noticed headlights in her lane of travel, and tried to swerve right, but V1 struck her.

The driver of V2 was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for precaution, while Mr. Martinez was transported to Jersey Shore for his injuries. Police say he suffered internal bleeding and is required surgery to repair his abdomen.

“As of now, Mr. Martinez will be issued a summons for Unlicensed Driver, and Failure to maintain Lane,” police said. “More summons or charges pending further investigation.”

  1. I believe the driver of vehicle 2 should be charged with a hate crime and discrimination for not allowing Mr Martinez to drive in her lane. That is definitely what would happen in NYC and Chicago.

  2. 3. The cars nowadays are like toys. They flip over easily and also because their weight is so light, they have no traction. Driving today is like a drone. You are almost off the ground and ready for take off.
