The man suspected of carjacking a vehicle this morning fled to Lakewood and assaulted three people before being apprehended, police tell TLS.

Police say the suspect, whose name has not yet been released, allegedly carjacked a Jackson couple and then traveled to Lakewood.

The suspect then assaulted three people in the area of Route 9 and Kennedy Boulevard.

Employees from one of the local shops reportedly followed the suspect until police arrived and took him into custody.

One of the victims was transported by Hatzolah to JSUMC for a face laceration and required stitches.

The suspect is being charged with carjacking and multiple assault charges.
