The Ocean County employee killed in a tragic accident in Lakewood earlier this week, has been identified.

On January 31st, the Lakewood Police Department, as well as several other emergency and investigative local and county agencies, responded to the Northern Recycling Center located at 800 Towbin Avenue in reference to a worker that had been fatally injured.

“Upon arrival it was reported that recycling employees were in the process of moving a large container that had just been delivered,” police said.

“At some point during the process, 50-year-old Timothy Hannold of West Creek, entered the container. Unaware of his presence they continued to try and upright the dumpster causing the doors to shift and pin Mr. Holland up against an inside wall. Sadly he did not survive.”

  1. county workers in general work hard and there needs to be a hot lunch delivered for free so that they are under less fatigue also there should be free coffee and energy bars in the morning these are steps which can help prevent such tragedies in the future.
