Police say Airport Road is expected to remain closed until approximately 10:00 PM tonight as crews continue working to repair a water main break.

Motorists are urged to plan accordingly and seek alternate routes.

Earlier today, TLS reported (On TLS Communities and Status) about the frustration from area business people after an officer stationed at the scene directed all motorists to take lengthy detours—some lasting up to half an hour—even for those whose offices could have been accessed without entering the affected area.

Shortly after we sent out the post, LPD’s Traffic Safety Division intervened and quickly resolved the issue.
