A total of 19,355 Lakewood residents have already cast their votes ahead of Tuesday’s general election, according to unofficial election data obtained by TLS.
That figure includes an astonishing 12,602 in-person early votes, with 2,959 of those cast on Sunday, the final day of early voting.
An additional 6,753 mail-in ballots have been returned as of Monday morning.
Early, in-person voting concluded Sunday evening, and polls will open on Tuesday from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for Election Day voting.
This year’s early turnout in Lakewood is roughly on par with last year’s, which was a presidential election year — an indication of a strong community response to the historic and united endorsement from the Lakewood Vaad and area adjacent community councils.
In 2024, a total of 20,394 Lakewood residents voted early, while in the 2021 gubernatorial election, total turnout reached 20,888 voters overall. That means Lakewood’s advance vote total this year is already approaching the full turnout from the last governor’s race — with Election Day voting still ahead.
Lakewood currently has 65,130 registered voters. In the 2021 election, voter turnout in the township stood at 36 percent of the town’s 57,491 registered voters.

I wonder how many of the registered voters are in Isreal for yeshiva or…
would be interesting to know how many registered voters are currently in Lakewood.
Of the in person early votes, pretty much all of them are currently in lakewood (except for me. I’m out of town at the moment. I’ll be back in a couple hours).
Of the mail in ballots, there have long been absentee ballots for those who would be out of state on Election Day.
