Students at Lakewood Middle School and Lakewood High School have been excitedly working the whole month of November on their entries for the Unity in Lakewood logo contest!
The contest – sponsored by Scoop Outdoor and Attorney Michael Inzelbuch – calls for Lakewood students to design a logo that will represent how people “of all cultures, races, and religions can live together in unity.”
Middle school art teachers, Mrs. Diana Ehlers, Ms. Lindsay Shemeley, and Ms. Meghan Nadeau organized their students’ works of art in preparation for submission this Thursday, November 30th.
Over 200 entries from each school should keep the judges of the contest very busy!
High School art teachers, Mr. Michael Francia, Mr. Matthew Varacalli, Mrs. Linda Sloan, and Mr. David Majowicz will also be submitting their students’ works this Thursday.
Contest judges, Honorable Senator Robert Singer, Mayor Ray Coles, Board President Moshe Bender, Superintendent Laura A. Winters, Supervisor of Fine Arts Kevin Walters, Alejandra Morales, La Voz Latina, NAACP President Fred Rush, and Rabbi Aaron Kotler, BMG will announce the contest winners at the Lakewood Board of Education meeting on December 11th at Lakewood High School.
