United Airlines announced that the first planes featuring the blazing-fast free Starlink Wi-Fi will be hitting the skies on May 15, 2025.

United Airlines announced in March that it installed Starlink on its first regional aircraft, the first step in bringing the advanced technology to its entire fleet.

The airline announced last year that it plans to outfit its entire two-cabin regional fleet by the end of the year, with the eventual goal of adding it to every one of their aircraft.

“Our ability to roll-out this innovative service with unprecedented speed and scale is a direct result of the advanced equipment, technology and team of experts at United,” United’s VP of Digital Technology, Grant Milstead said in a statement.

“Starlink has been a terrific partner – our combined spirit of innovation and collaboration will enable us to hit our goal of more than 300 regional aircraft installations before the end of this year,” he added.

Starlink access will be free for all United’s MileagePlus® customers and include game-changing inflight entertainment.

The Wi-fi is said to offer speeds of over 200 mbps download, and over 20 mbps upload.
