Coventry Square residents were quite surprised to find DPW employees picking up their trash this morning, despite the Township saying there would not be trash collection today due to MLK Day, as earlier reported.
Residents tell TLS they were confused when they saw the trucks roll up to their neighbors, but their own trash bins had not been put out, as per the Township’s orders.
“So they had the day off and they came in by mistake”? one area resident asked TLS.
When approached by some of the development’s neighbors however, the driver said they would be coming again tomorrow, according to the Holiday schedule.
A Township official told TLS that areas which had the partial pickup will be serviced tomorrow as well. (TLS-55/TLS-50).
Overtime? Investigate this
Sounds fishy to me
To paraphrase the great MLK:
I BELIEVE there will be garbage pick-up TODAY!
Who is paying? Holiday pay? What were they working on a holiday for ? Or was it for snow/ice on the roadways?
Why would Twp. workers work on a national holiday?
In my six years as Association manager never has the township p/u on MLK , but it never stop residents from placing the carts to curb on Sunday even if it was hoilday that town was nornally closed. I guess the Township should reimburse the homeowners the association charged to remove cart from the curb
