  1. OTD boys in my opinion. We need to adjust our chinuch system to let the struggling boys feel like they are an important part of our society. Feeling like you’re a loser in a society because of a learning disability leads to antisocial behavior.
Let’s wake up now before we have much bigger problems from these heilega Neshomos that we’ve rejected.
We’ve told them for 10 years that they are failures & they are proving us right.
If only the elite learners are important, why should those who can’t even imagine being at the middle feel valued?
I say this from personal experience knowing them up close.

    • Start by ensuring that the Rebbeim are equipped to deal with all types of boys not just top, in the box boys. Just because a child is somewhat out of the box doesn’t mean that the Rebbi should ignore him and treat him like a nothing or worse, make him feel he’s not even part of his class. If you don’t have what it takes to be a proper Rebbi please find a different job.

  2. Heres an idea I want to throw out there, it may be a bit radical but sometimes that is what is needed, don’t leave your keys in your car and lock your car doors.

  3. What should the compromised Rebbi do if he’s been a Rebbi for 20 years plus? Sell life insurance?
We are losing many boys every year to a life of failure because we never gave them a fair chance to succeed. The current ratio of OTD boys in Lakewood VS OTD girls is like 3-1 or more.
Boys with a learning disability have it much harder than girls & they walk out of Mosdos feeling like failures. We can save so many of these boys if we put them in the right learning environment at an early age.
I have no doubt that this is adding to the shidduch crisis.
