Two teens on dirt bike injured after colliding with SUV in Brick

Two teens were injured after colliding with an SUV in brick, police say.

On Wednesday, March 30, at about 8:40 PM, the Brick Township Police Department responded in the area of Lanes Mill Road and Millbrook Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a dirt bike and an SUV.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the dirt bike was traveling south on Lanes Mill Road approaching the intersection of Millbrook Road. Thr other vehicle was traveling north on Lanes Mill Road and was slowing down to make a left turn onto Millbrook Road. As it was attempting to conduct its turn, the dirt broke struck the SUV.

The impact ejected both the driver and passenger off the dirt bike. The driver of the dirt bike, 14 years old, left the scene on foot prior to police arrival and was later located at his residence.

The Brick Township Police Department’s Patrol Units, and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. The 16-year-old passenger of the dirt bike was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. ​

The Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit responded to the scene to investigate the crash.
