A vehicle exiting a parking lot on New Hampshire Avenue ended up in the woods and on its side this evening.

Witnesses say that at around 7:30 PM, the driver was waiting to turn onto New Hampshire Avenue when the vehicle suddenly accelerated and shot across the road and into the woods, overturning.

Lakewood First Aid, Hatzolah and EMS responded to the scene and assisted the driver and passenger exit the vehicle.

The patients, said to be approximately 65 years in age, were transported to the hospital for observation, officials say.
