Two Pedestrians Struck By Drunk Driver Friday Night

hatz_monoc_rigTwo pedestrians, including a Frum woman, were struck last night by a drunk driver, sources say. At approximately 10:30 p.m., a drunk driver was driving in the area of Route 9 and Oak Street when he jumped the curb, struck a man and a woman, before striking several vehicles.

Police, Hatzolah and EMS responded to the scene. Hatzolah Paramedics transported the woman to Jersey Shore Medical Center in stable condition, and the man was transported by Lakewood EMS with minor injuries.

The drunk driver was arrested by police. TLS

  1. i was crossing central avenue one shabbos and just as i was getting to the middle of the road, this car comes speeding around the bend from route nine so i had to rush to get to the sidewalk. i wonder if he would have kept on going if he’d have hit me. i hate these drivers. they drive like they own the road, but they’ll get caught one day.

  2. To #4 -I live in Raintree, and the same thing happends here. I’m on a cul-de-sac, and they use it like a race track. It’s a development. Slow down. Kids are playing outside now that it’s warmer.
