Two Frum Lakewood residents were assaulted on Shabbos in Lakewood, TLS has learned.
At approximately 3:00 PM this afternoon, the residents were walking down Vermont Avenue, when a driver allegedly got out of his vehicle and assaulted the pair, injuring one badly.
The suspect then fled the scene.
Hatzolah responded and transported one of the victims to Jersey Shore University Center.
It’s unclear at this time if there was any prior interaction between the parties, or if it was a random assault.
Police are investigating.
UPDATE: Detectives this evening are reviewing camera footage of the incident. The suspect’s vehicle is possibly a dark blue sedan, police told TLS.
Anyone with information is asked to call the LPD.
