Two youngsters from the Lakewood Middle School were arrested Wednesday for carrying knives in school, Detective Sergeant Greg Staffordsmith confirms to TLS.
“According to reports, the males were discovered by school personnel to have folding knives in their possession while in class,” Staffordsmith says.
Officer Alex Guzman arrested the two juvenile males on weapon violations, Staffordsmith says.
“It is unclear why the boys had the knives in their possession, but they were seized and both were charged with possession of a weapon and released to their parent(s),” Staffordsmith said.
It is unknown why they knives were not detected by the metal detectors.

What a shame. School is to important to be doing things like that. Schools and parents need to do a better job of helping the kids understand the importance of an education. Also this article needs a new editer. I always see several grammer errers.
This is a shame that these kids need to do this now a days…..and to anon above, people in glass houses…just sayin
Well, your grammar isn’t any better – it should say TOO important!
#1 going for irony?
To #1: Did you mean editor, errors and grammar? “you always see grammer errers from the editer? “
It is a shame that metal detectors are not detecting weapons. They need to check that out or what are they waiting for? For something bad to happen!!!
For the one who wants to be talking about “grammar errors,” and can’t even spell it himself, school is TOO important in order to learn how to spell correctly!
Don’t understand why you didn’t post my remark. I was “sticking up” for the writer. Anyway, Anonymous, should go back to school. You guys seem to be smart. How can you post a remark like his/her’s. Have a nice day.
