VIDEO: Two were injured this evening in a serious MVA involving an off-duty Lakewood Police Officer. The crash occurred at about 8PM at the intersection of Monmouth Avenue and 9th Street, when the vehicles collided head on, sending one of the vehicles into a telephone pole.
The off-duty police officer got out of his vehicle and immediately went to check on the other occupants to offer his assistance.
Two of the three passengers of the other vehicle were injured and transported by Hatzolah to area Hospitals.
EMS and Lakewood First Aid also responded the scene.
Any names for tehillim
how is at fault the cop or the other one
what happen with the police car and the ems car were they in an accident also
its a terribly dangerous intesection with cars parked all the way till the corner making it impossible to see if there are any cars coming.
i avoid it all the time. way too many accidents happen there.
#2
its a new method that i came up with for the police to investigate an accident.
to reconstruct it with 2 other vehicles, so the police suv and the ems car was best choice to reconstruct the pickup truck and the little car
dont know who told you it was head on but you can clearly see that the damage to the pick up is in the front and the damage to car is on the passanger side so obviosly it was a broudsided accident meaning one car jumpded the stop sign
on a side note that corner is a very dark corner with people always crossing time to get some more lights put up
It is a very dangeous corner. With many accidents happening. It was brought to the attention of the township but they had no concern for the safety of the neighborhood their only concern was that more and more townhouses be built.
this is a regular problem in lakewood where you can’t see vehicles traveling in the opposite direction because of the congested parking on the streets. the township should try and increase the parking distance from an intersection so we can see.
Yes this a poorly lit intersection. And the parking is horrible. But what is there to do? If you read back in the many postings on the stories throughout the the Scoop’s reporting history, you will find that when the police enforce parking issues, they are bashed openly.
You cannot have it both ways.
As for clearly disregarding a stop sign…absolutely no excuse. The driver is lucky her passenger(s) weren’t killed.
It is illegal to park within 50 feet of a STOP sign. Anyone who parks in such a manner is putting drivers, and pedestrians in dangerous situations. Before parking illegally, decide whether or not you can handle the responsibility of possibly causing injury or death.
stop complaining and just put some more of me up around this town already !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
more traffic lights will not work only cause more accidents from people trying to rush threw the yellow so they don’t have to stop
that corner along with seventh is a very dangrous intersection. just putting 2 stop signs along monmouth would help. cars go way too fast down monmouth, lexington, due to no stop signs .
Besides this accident, what about all of the people that are passing cars on a double line – any place where there is a double line, you will see cars racing to pass – ILLEGALLY. What is going to be done about that? How many mishaps and deaths do we have to see and hear about until this matter is taken care of.
no names for tehillim everyone is b’h fine. tho you can say a perek of Hoda’ah
