Two new turning lights will help the traffic flow on New Hampshire Avenue in the coming months. Part of the current widening project taking place on New Hampshire Avenue is to facilitate turning lanes both at Pine Street and at Oak Street.
Last month, the Township notified TLS that this construction will continue for several more months. And due to the current weather conditions, the project will go on for longer.
Currently, New Hampshire Avenue has two northbound and two southbound lanes.
Many use New Hampshire to travel from the one side of town to the other, in order to avoid Route 9 traffic, especially during the daytime hours.
Motorists can expect these lane closures and lane shifts to begin at 8:00 AM and continue until about 5:00 PM each work day for the next few months. Further, motorists are warned the posted speed limit in the work zone is 35 MPH.
Should you find it necessary to travel through the work zone please exercise extreme caution, expect traffic delays and drive defensively. TLS.
