After years of requesting separate carnivals for men & women this year my children decided to protest many issues. Look for us (B”H I have a lot of kids) holding signs like:
“Boys & Girls eating popcorn together is not Kosher!”
“My son (the Iluy) is not home because he’s not good enough to get into a yeshiva. He’s home because no yeshiva is good enough for him!”
“If the nosh doesn’t have at least 5 Heimish Hashgachas you might as well just eat Treif!”
“Sushi is Goyish, Gefilte Fish is Heimish!”
“A Jew is not a Zionist, a Zionist is not a Jew!”
“Davening for soldiers in the IDF is like worshipping Avodah Zara!”
“Pretending Modern Orthodox are Frum is like pretending Chazir is Kosher!”
“A Yid without a beard is showing the world, “I don’t care about Torah & Mitzvos!”
“Yes using the internet makes you OTD!”
“If your son goes to YU, Halacha requires you to sit Shiva!”
Stop by our booth & pickup keychains & bumper stickers that promote our messages,
“Not being Machmir is how “Reform Judaism” started!” or
“When I publicly point out your many Aveiros it’s out of love, not hate!”
Is this supposed to be funny?
Im not sure which community you are refering to but this does not at all describe the wonderful lakewood and if you think it does than you obviously know nothing about lakewood come see for yourself i only moved to lakewood two years ago and i see day and night wonderfull thing
Rabosai, is it too crowded to enjoy? Please fill me in..
There’s tons of people and tons of room…..
Dr. Roberts, thank you for this event that we hope to join. Just wondering is this intentionally for the Lakewood community or whoever wishes to attend?
The carnival is for all Jews; not limited to Lakewood residents
Only Jews?
I think theoretically it’s open to all. The above poster referenced Jews because this carnival is a “Chol Hamoed Sukkos” carnival, a holiday celebrated mostly by Jews.
Dear Dr Roberts,
Thank you so so so much for providing this free and kosher outlet for our children. My children have attended the carnival numerous times and have enjoyed immensely. it is so kind and thoughtful and considerate of you. God bless you!
Unfortunately, in recent years the event has become so jammed packed that we have chosen not to attend. I know other families that have also stopped attending for that reason.
I thought of an idea that might work.
perhaps the event should be broken up into two events – and all people whose last name end between A – L would be invited the first day, while all people whose names end between M – Z would be invited the second day.
i know this would add to the budget. But i thought it might be an idea you would consider.
In Yeshivas Brisk, Reb Avrohom Yehoshua Soloveitchik currently uses the above system regarding his very popular Motzai Shabbos Shiur. And the boys are invited to attend only every other week based on the alphabet of their last names.
i know it might end up disallowing certain cousins to attend together, but it thought it might be something you would like to consider.
Thanking you again for your unbelievable generosity!
I don’t think that’s a wise idea at all!!!
Your idea will probably add $20,000 to the budget at least
Maybe $30,000
I agree with you that it won’t be exactly double.
It’s not fair to ask Dr Roberts to shell out $30,000 when we all know that nowadays a lot of people are broke. Dr Roberts knows very well how to manage his Chessed projects.
We appreciate the event !
I share the same sentiment, bh there’s so many attending that we cannot come anymore. Can’t see the shows, begging for water is not my thing. Something needs to change
Amazing amazing chesed
But just like hashems Chasodim we start taking it for granted
Thank you dr Roberts
“Please do not give to anyone collecting”.I thought I lived in Lakewood, not Sedom”.
Amazing chesed, literally providing for others
Ty Dr Roberts!!!
We are super busy so we don’t honestly have the time to write out the words “Ty” Thank you because we are really rushing either to make a Parnassa or to make a lot of $ and I can not afford to spend any extra time to clearly explain my comments. I will just send you a hint.
Actually Dr. Roberts is the exact opposite, he invested tons of his own personal precious time to give Klal Yisroel an amazing experience and to offer a beautiful Chessed to Klal Yisroel.
“THANK YOU” Dr. Roberts
Thank you Dr. Roberts for such a great venue as always! We were away but arrived back in town for the last 2 hours of the event. I’m always blown away by the professionalism and generosity of this carnival. May HK”BH bentch you with continue health, wealth and mazel!
GREAT JOB RABBI LEIFER ( CAMP BLEV ECHAD) & DR. ROBERTS. NEXT YEAR IN YERUSHALAYIM. SAME SHOW.
