  1. What matters is whether Biden will agree, rather than few Lakewooders debating the issue a’la coffee room.

It is obvious that he won’t, even if he were be able to read this statement.

  2. How quickly people forget! Trump is the one who started the process of withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan. Biden is merely continuing the policy that Trump began. It’s easy for Trump to criticize now that he’s out of office, which has been proven to have happened legitimately. Can’t we Republicans come up with a normal candidate next time around?

    • Wow finally an intelligent person on this site! I couldn’t agree more that all the die hard trump supporters are blaming Biden for something that trump began instead of looking at the facts

  3. @getoverit

Trump would have obviously asset the situation before he did something so rash, yes he began, but don’t forget at the same time he was eliminating terror cells and would have never withdraw if there was a remote chance of the Teliban regaining power

  4. A yid can never say derogatory things about the malchus they are under, legit or otherwise. We need to stay parev, daven for the sholom malchus and the geulah bekorov.

  5. Trump is gone! Everything that happens from January 21 is on Biden, PERIOD!!!
Biden is in charge, he could have done things differently, look at all his orders to reverse anything Trump did.

  6. This is what happens when an administration has no leader and rules by neglect. There is nothing wrong with withdrawing from Afghanistan, but it’s HOW you do it. You can lower cargo to the ground with a crane but you don’t cut the cord and let the whole thing drop!!

  7. Trump generally assessed situations before going in?! Am I reading right? He did things by impulse, his chassidim praise his ‘instincts’. He didn’t wait for advice from those that knew the situation, he didn’t rely on people’s experience. He did what he wanted at the moment and left others to mop up the mess.
Announce tariffs and then figure out how they should work, When they backfired (2019 had a larger trade deficit with China than any year since 2001), it was someone else’s fault.

      • Trump made a deal with the Taliban, freeing 5000 fighters. Guess what he received in return? A big fat zero! Nothing at all. His ‘art of the deal’ was to give away someone else’s objects for free.

Now that the US left, as was announced more than a year ago, those fighters are available to take over Afghanistan. Trump showed them that the US doesn’t care what happens over there.

Biden could have restarted the Afghanistan campaign, but there was no pressing reason for it.

I personally don’t think that Afghani issues should dominate America, and we should focus on our own interests, not trying to fight or run other countries. But this debacle is years in the making, with Bush, Trump and Biden bearing the brunt of the blame. Of those three, the first two are the bigger problem.

  8. Twenty years, 2+ Trillion dollars spent, 2500 US troops killed, 3800 US contractors killed and the Taliban take back the whole county in 60 days. What a waste!
