Truck Fire Sends Plumes Of Smoke Through Brookhill

VIDEO: A large truck fire sent plumes of black smoke through Brookhill Estates this evening. The L&R Landscaping truck was found fully engulfed in flames on East Kennedy Boulevard in Brookhill, and the flames quickly began spreading to the nearby trees. Luckily, there was nobody inside the vehicle.

Smoke was visible from all of Brookhill and beyond.

The fire was brought under control moments after the fire department’s arrival.

The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire. TLS-00/TLS-CMW/TLS-CCP/TLS-Yaakov/TLS-LFG/TLS-MD.

Fire was NOT in Brookhill. Fire was on E Kennedy a house and a half down the block from Bais Chabad.

If anyone had a question about the zman of Purim and what the mitzvah of purim is, it might be a good idea to review how fortunate this ended up being: no one was hurt, the forest (a few feet from the truck) did not catch fire and worst of it was the crowd of people who could have been in harms way if anything had gotten out of hand.

Maybe it is about time, in the schuss of haShem’s constantly watching and caring for us, we should also strive to do the same!!

A Freilich, kosher and properly celebrated Purim to all. Remember, there is NO mitzvah to light fires, there is no mitzvah to drink until one waters the lawn and there is certainly no mitzvah to prepare after the night reading for the next day’s sueda (by over-doing the alchohol).

Thank you to the volunteer firefighters for being there for us. AND TO THEIR SPOUSES AND FAMILIES who allow their husbands to go in middle of the night to battle fires and save lives and property.

One truck for one fireman.

I like that. Kind of like the Texas Ranger, “One Riot, One Ranger.”

I guess if they decide they need more men, they call them. But, New Jersey sure is cool–Everyone gets his own fire engine.

I heard Bergen County ten times has more fire equipment than all of NYC.

Not bad. Took about a half hour for them to come. Kind of like the Houston police.

Expected to see group of firement to get out and hook up the hoses.

Driver gets out, put on his pants, his shirt and his hat, all the while that I am standing watching the flames get closer and closer to my house.

Well, I had my garden house hooked up.

Last night, I the mayor of Hadden Heights’s son told me that when his small town tried to contract fire services with the next town over because they did not have ladders high enough to reach a new building in town, there was such an uproar that this town of 500 had to buy their own fire engine at $250,000.

I am not sure if they have any firement, so there might be more fire men than fire engines.
