Following our report earlier this month about the Toms River Police Holiday Toy Drive, dozens of more toys came in after Misameach took note of the distribution.

Every year the officers prepare a month in advance in order to bring some holiday cheer to the children who have to spend this festive time of year in a medical facility.

This year’s event collected over $4,000 in cash and toys that were distributed to children at the Children’s Specialized Hospital and Community Medical Center in Toms River.

“Our goal is to lessen the burden that these families face while counting our own blessings,” said Toms River Police spokesman Ralph Stocco.

“We also would like to thank the Lakewood Scoop for bringing this cause to the attention of Misameach, a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to lifting the spirits of children and adults who are hospitalized, bedridden, or facing serious illness,” Stocco said. “Lipa Schwartz, a representative of Misameach, quickly coordinated a donation of toys through Police Chaplain Avrohom Fried.”
