TRPD issues Statement in response to Mass Shooting in Buffalo

The Toms River Police Department today issued a statement in response to the attack in Buffalo which left 10 people dead.

“In light of this weekend’s tragedy in Buffalo, we’d like to assure our community that the TRPD understands your concerns and will take a measured response to any threat level presented, and identical to that of previous school shootings, church shootings, mall shootings or attacks to any particular group nationwide,” TRPD said. “If the threat level to our residents were to increase, security measures would naturally be increased.”

“The cooperation of the community is also very important. If you see something, say something. If you have experienced an incident personally, we urge you to contact TRPD at 732-349-0150. We obviously denounce any hate, and every complaint we receive is dealt with extreme care and concern.”

TRPD concluded, “As always, stay vigilant and stay safe!”
