Travelers to the United States Will Soon be Required to Pay A New Visa Fee

Included in the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which President Trump signed into law on July 4th, is a new requirement for visitors to the United States to pay a “visa integrity fee.”

The new $250 fee will be charged each time a nonimmigrant visa is issued, applying across all categories—including H-1B, L-1, O-1, F-1, B-1/B-2, and J-1—and will be payable by every visa applicant when their visa is approved.

This new fee will be added to the existing $205 registration fee visa applicants already pay, for a new total of $455.

However, the Act does allow for some visa holders to apply for reimbursement, on condition they comply with the terms of their visa.
