Transformer Fire Knocks Out Power In Rt 70 Area

Residents in the area of Route 70 and Shorrock Road have lost power a short time ago due to a transformer fire in the area, police say. About 1,300 homes in neighboring Toms River have also lost power according to JCP&L, but it’s unclear at this time if it’s related to this incident.

Traffic lights are out in the area. Use caution.

There are reports of a fuel leak in the area as well.

Police and the Lakewood Fire Department are on scene. TLS.
