Transformer Fire Causes Power Outage In Prospect Street Area

UPDATED: A transformer fire has caused a large power outage in the area of Prospect Street. Most of the High Point development and Toras Aron hall (Which has a Melave Malka there this evening), have lost power.

KMC, an official says, is running on generators.

It’s unknown when power will be restored to the area.

UPDATE 8:55 PM. According to JCP&L, there are between 500-2,000 without power.

This was a good response to a bad situation. Chaveirim volunteers need a pat on the back for helping Lakewood residents through the blackout. JCP&L also responded quickly and efficiently to restore power.

All goes well when everyone cooperates to get the situation resolved asap.
