There is an anticipated Whitesville Road closure, expected to begin on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 9:00 AM.
Police released the following information: A to Z Contractors will be performing the roadwork. It is anticipated that this will be a 30 day closure, but can vary one way or the other depending on weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Once the roadway is closed, it will be closed to all traffic, as it will not be passible, due to extensive road opening. For those that need to access the road for emergencies or bus stops, please utilize the following guides:
For access to Calendula Drive and Canon Blvd., access will ONLY be available from East Veterans Highway. This also includes residences from 26 – 76 Whitesville Rd.
Those residents that live on Canon Blvd. will be able to access their homes via Cannon Blvd, or a new temporary roadway that is being built through new construction adjacent to Canon. This roadway will be made wide enough for emergency vehicles as well.
For access to Grawtown Road, please continue to use the direct access from East Veterans Highway, or access will still be available from South Hope Chapel Road.
Denton Lane will only be accessible from the South Hope Chapel Road side.
Residences from 79 Whitesville to 300 Whitesville will only be accessible from South Hope Chapel Road.
There will be Road Closed signs at both ends of Whitesville Road advising of the closure.
Officers will be posted near Calendula and Grawtown Roads on a daily basis, and will assist any motorists or residents as necessary. The detour is being setup for motorists to take East Veterans to South Hope Chapel, and vice versa.
A month is a long time having a county road closed. I’ve complained multiple times over the last two years about and to AZ engineering. For us locals on Whitesville especially those who have kids in school this is very stressful.
