  1. I am just wondering if there was any way they could have done this over the weekend. As this will cause an extra hour to my commute for the next 3 days.

  2. I can just imagine how backed up Central ave will be now, especially with additional construction also on Carannetta and South Lake drive. The roads are going to get more dysfunctional.

  3. This is retarded!! This work must be done at night. Does anyone know where to petition this decision? Who has the right to make a decision as to when to schedule this work?

  4. They did the road work on Squankum Rd at night. I was nightmarish for the local residents who live on Squankum, but at least the traffic nightmare was avoided. Is there a reason why they couldn’t have done the same here??? This is ridiculous!

  5. Its simply unfair to the residents to do this during commute and day camp drop off hours. It added an extra 45-60 min per person x at least 1000. You can do the math… Why can`t this be done at night?? I`m sure if we speak to the right people it can be done.
James st is a County rd, We need to speak to the county for the construction aspect. However the headache and all of the domino affects of this construction becomes a local township issue.

  6. To contact Ocean County Engineering Department, please go to co.ocean.nj.us/engineering/frmContactENG.aspx or call 732-929-2130 and tell them that they should NEVER close streets like this during weekday daytime hours! If enough people complain, we might be able to stop it from happening in the future!
