TRAFFIC ALERT: Water Main Break Shuts Portion of Route 9

A portion of Route 9 is shut this morning due to a water main break, police say. Rt 9 southbound will be closed in the area of Central Ave to James Street after two collapsed sewer pipes were found

A traffic detour plan was set up. Southbound traffic will be diverted west on Central Ave, then south on Sunset adn then travel east on James Street back to Route 9.

Police did not give an estimated time frame for the repairs.
