  1. I saw this title and started celebrating, but quickly realized that I am overestimating Lakewood’s ability to make smart decisions. When traveling down cedar bridge away from Clifton, traffic gets extremely backed up due to cars trying to make a left. I myself have waited numerous times for more than 20 mins just to proceed. This is something that can be remedied with a turning light for 10 seconds. Besides for traffic buildup it causes extremes dangerous situations when cars from the left lane try to merge to the fast-moving right lane, due to a buildup of left-turning vehicles.
But will the township install a left arrow? NO! First we need 10 accidents including 2 fatalities and then we can have a board meeting about it…

  2. Thanks to the township for providing a turning lane, there is a little necessary for that too. I’m assuming though, that they got a lot of complaints, but misunderstood the problem. The traffic on cedar ridge is what gets backed up. So once again thanks for trying but…..

  3. I like other on the comments thought too the turning lane is being added from cedarbridge to clover.

Com’on , the traffic is from cedar ridge to clover.

Is anyone home in the township?

  4. Have you ever sat on Clover backed up to just about Rt 88 in the morning? I have a I welcome the turning lane wi the open arms. Now it’s possible for me to get to work on time!

  5. Thank you for making these gradual improvements. May I recommend making a right turn only lane on the Route 88-New Hampshire intersection coming from Clifton, heading towards Brick? Anyone who makes that right turn on a frequent basis should understand why this makes so much sense. Especially with that third lane being eliminated almost immediately after the intersection.

  6. They got it backwards. Traffic is the other way and the backed up turning cars on cedarbride create a dangerous situation as cars suddenly swerve into the right lane to avoid the backup…

  7. They obviously missed the boat on fixing the issues at this intersection. The backup of cars waiting to make a left from Cedarbridge onto Clover is the problem. Being that there is no turning light and no time to turn the cars end up going even after the light is green for Clover, causing some back up there. This will only make it worse because until now the cars wanting to go right were able to go right on red. Now cars waiting to go left will be blocking them.
