Maybe we can have some of the township engineers look into this. Don’t think this is the first time.

Yes, i was thinking the same thing. that is a tight corner and every truck has trouble making the turn. perhaps the pole should be moved back a few feet to prevent these occurences.

And there should be enforcement that cars waiting to make a left should stop by the line to give the trucks the full room…

Happens frequently. That corner is not rounded. It is squared off at a horrible angle so tractor trailers often get stuck on the turn trying to squeeze by cars stopped on Cedarbridge and hold up traffic for a whole light cycle or else they cut the corner and risk taking down the light. Either fix the corner or bar tractor trailers from that turn.

I personally have no problem with trucks taking out poles, I just think its important we work on the timing.

We should have a Zero Tolerance policy for this during Rush Hour.

Just my 2 cents

This isn’t a township traffic light. It’s a state light on on NJ State road Route 88

I walk up s Clifton to 88 every day. While waiting in that corner, I’ve noticed cars coming up s Clifton Do Not stop where they are supposed to making it Very difficult for even box trucks to make that right. People need to follow All laws while driving, they Are made for a reason!
Next time a trailer can’t make the right due to a car past the line to stop, he should just wait there making traffic crazy and let an officer give out the appropriate ticket.
Truckers NEED room to make wide turns it doesn’t take a genius to figure that out

They need enforcement for a lot of things at that corner. 3 cars make lefts after the OTHER direction already has a green. They were NOT in the intersection before the light turned yellow…

Why cant you ban trucks from making that right turn and have them get on to cedar bridge from Hurley?

There is no left turn signal by Central on the 9, there is one by the 88.

same issue corner of James and rt 9, pole is always hit by trucks, apparently the road planners were hired do to some minority/diversity law, and not merit based, how sad! we need people with intelligence, to plan and design our roads

Better traffic control on Lexington and Railroad ave entering rt 88. Stop the gridlock for people trying to go east out of those streets.

Don’t be an oiberchuchum, use Clifton.
You sound like the clowns that go down Caranetta, because hayitachen Ani should sit in traffic on Central, and the then complain that no one on Central lets you cut in (causing 6 people to miss the light).

As a municipal utility pole emergency repair contractor, I strongly reject any changes to the current placement of any utility poles!

I suggest that the truck should not make a right turn at Clifton. And Route 88 to prevent accidentally taking down traffic lights.
