Beginning tomorrow, April 10, Ridge Avenue will consist of one lane only, between New Hampshire Avenue and East County Line Road. Traffic will only be allowed to travel in a northerly direction from New Hampshire Avenue towards East County Line Road.
No traffic will be allowed to enter onto Ridge Avenue from East County Line Road – all vehicles will have to follow the posted detour.
The one-way traffic pattern will be in place 24 hours a day for the next 60 days, weather permitting.
New Hampshire Avenue will remain open in both directions at all times and traffic on Ridge Avenue northbound will be able to proceed through the intersection towards East County Line Road.
“Although this is a inconvenience to the motoring public, in the long run this will help move traffic more efficiently for everyone,” police said. “The improvements to the roadway and intersection are being made possible by the Ocean County Freeholders through the Ocean County Engineering Department, we are thankful for all their help in addressing our concerns with this intersection making these improvements and our roadways safer for everyone.”

Uh. Excuse me, guys, hello ? If you’re so close already, maybe you can put a light or a 4-way stop at the corner of Risge and E 7th st. That would be a huge benefit to the ppl there. Thx.
This will cause astonishing traffic. What improvement will there be?
