As earlier reported on our news alerts, if you’re traveling to the Catskills for Shabbos expect very heavy delays on the Thruway due to a fatal accident.

The crash occurred on the Thruway southbound between exits 14B and 15, and involved two tractor trailers and other vehicles. At least one person was pronounced dead.

Chaveirim of Rockland released the following alert:

“Due to a major fatal accident on the Thruway by Exit 14B next to Monsey the NYS Thruway is a standstill on both directions effecting Route 59 & NJ-17 North, this may go on for the entire afternoon.

If you’re traveling anywhere for Shabbos, leave early and avoid the Thruway and the NJ-17 North. If you’re traveling to the Catskills, use the Palisades Parkway.”
