OK this will probably be moderated for voicing my oppinion about this incident ,but here goes anyway
This is a very valid reason why no schools should be in the industrial park

I totally agree. It’s called the industrial park for a reason- nevermind all the tax dollars the township loses whenever one of those buildings is taken off the tax rolls..

Sounds fishy

good point # 1. But this is Lakewood. Things in Lakewood that might make sense in another town, don’t make sense here.

I agree with #1 but if you have any idea how many building are sitting vacant it is good that someone is using them. AND schools do plenty good for the town financially as well.

To 1,2,3,4,5.

The schools in industrial park are a great thing.

First of all if they were on YOUR block , you would scream bloody murder.

Second of all , because we have great schools in Lakewood, (we really do)
We attract much more TAXPAYERS from all over the country, who buy lots of stuff , like PEPSI, did you know that Lakewood is the 1# purchaser of Pepsi and Reynolds products in the state?

Thirdly – these factories , some of them have been sitting empty for years, EDUCTION is the best thing for them. At least they are being used. There are Soooo many empty ones , even as we speak.

Fourthly- have you ever heard about any crime from any of the 10+ schools in Industrial Park EVER NO!!!! maybe an occasional firealarm here and there or paper airplane citing but that’s it.

OUR KIDS ARE OUR FUTURE, STOP COMPLAINING PEOPLE, GD BLESS THOSE CHILDREN IN INDUSTRIAL PARK, Gee Whiz!!!

The fact that the schools don’t pay taxes is because they are LEGALLY tax exempt. This is the law of the land and if you want to change it write your legislators.

In the American system charities have their place. They are exempt because they exist to benefit society.

But it *is* America, so by all means write Washington and Trenton, or better yet, why not run for office yourself?

As a building owner there I applaud the schools there. firstly there are tons of empty buildings and people are hurting there.some schools are leasing which helps building owners and lowers supply and demand goes up. Also it is far safer there on route 9 and other busy streets. Finally when a school was proposed three blocks from my home I and my neighbors Jewish and others went to complain.here it bothers noone yet people will complain! There is no winning is there?

Mark, I wouldn’t bring Pepsi into the picture now if I were you… They are probably one of the last companies right now that will help prove your point.

Um Hello

Why is no one more concerned that there was a TRUCK THAT EXPLODED instead of veering off a side road and talking about schools, taxes and Pepsi (which our children shouldn’t be drinking anyway.. Soda is bad for you!). I want answers on the who, whats & whys this happened. Too many “sudden” fires lately.

Who is actually worried about reduced tax revenue? Every vacant peice of land is now 8 townhouses which pay lots more tax than that vacant land or single old house. By the way, stuff explodes sometimes. Cars, trucks, buildings. It’s immaterial that schools are nearby.

Seems every time I write that the town offered a large piece of land to build all the schools on the post gets moderated out. Can someone explain why????

WHY when other comments have been posted well past this one , again you may not agree with my position so that would make this purely a constraint of someone voicing there oppinion thta yo do not agree with
