Township To Request Dedicated Turning Lanes On Rt 9 & Kennedy, County Line Intersections

The Township will be requesting that the State install dedicated North-bound turning lanes at both Kennedy Boulevard and County Line Road, on Route 9. On Thursday evening, the Township passed a resolution to officially request that the State install the lanes to ease traffic congestion in the area.

The request comes after numerous complaints from residents who have voiced their concerns at Township meetings. TLS.

  1. What about left turn arrow on countyline going northbound onto the 9 ?
Thanks for helping us all out…. it has been frustrating.

  2. About time! Every time I turn onto the nine especialy from County Line road I can’t help wondering what takes so long.

  3. They shouldn’t have messed with it when they did (about 4-5 years ago). It was fine till then.
The intersection people around here really need help.
    1) Central & Rt. 9 (or “the 9”)
    2) County Line from Forest Ave. till Clifton
    3) Pine & Rt. 9 (or “the 9”)
    4) MLK & Pine
    5) 1st & Monmouth

  4. great idea-with turning arrows of course. While at it, please get the state to open the 9 fully two lanes southbound from 88 to Cental/Hurley. They can remove the zebra stripes. The new/current bottleneck merge(done when left turning lane was added at 9/88) is a disaster tying up traffic til 4th s,t at times + an accident waiting to happen

We need turning lanes on Pine/James and Rte. 9 please.

there are turn lanes at this intersection..just because you dont have an arrow doesn’t mean there isn’t a lane

  6. The proposal is good and needed. If there were also red-light cameras all up and down US Rt. 9, it would improve safety, resulting from fines to those that drive erratically, run red-lights, and drive while talking on the phone.

Brick has taken in millions. Lakewood would have a windfall of twice that amount.
