Township to Honor Lakewood Varsity Basketball Team and 2 Who Rescued Special Children from School Bus

The Lakewood High School Varsity Basketball Team will be honored by the Township recognizing the team’s recent victory in the Sectional Finals State Tournament, an official tells TLS.

Additionally, at the next Township Committee meeting, the town will honor a bus driver and assistant who removed Special Children from a school bus before it became fully engulfed in flames last week.

The honorees will be officially recognized and given a plaque by the Mayor during the public meeting.

  1. Way to go boys basketball, you rock! Always helps to flex some positive muscle in the lakewood community. Thank g-d for the bus driver and assistant being responsive in what was a critical moment and may have resulted in a tragic ending.
Happy endings are always better! Big thank you to everyone.
