The Township Committee this evening passed a resolution rewarding the Hatzolah Volunteer First Aid squad $20,000 from UEZ funds. The funds, awarded by the LDC, will help the squad purchase a new ambulance or other emergency vehicle to replace aging ones.
Hatzolah, which has approximately 56 members, responds to about 7,000 yearly.
The LDC recently also awarded the Lakewood First Aid squad, also a volunteer group, with a similar grant. TLS.

We need more members!
Sure. A new ambulance cost $110,000.00 so where is this money really going? And what is uez
Wow ! That’s incredible that the UEZ is giving such a generous grant to Hatzolah. I think a really big, huge, yasher Koach has to go to Chavareinu R’ Waxman for securing this grant and, indeed, for that he’s done for Hatzolah over the last few yrs. It wasn’t that long ago, hatzolah was totally broke financially and using, old, out-dated, inferior equipment. R’ Waxman, in just a few yrs, using his immense, intense, abundant talents has turned that around remarkably. Hatzolah has a few new garages & ambulances and, while by no means flush, has been able to function nicely & buy 5 new defibillators – unbelievable. Hatzlocha rabbah – Dudi Birnbaum

Not everything in life is a conspiracy. You are right, a new rig cost $110,000. The $20 is utilized for the down payment. Very simple.
