Have you ever wondered who feeds the poor children of Yerushalyim? Who provides winter coats for these children? A nourishing breakfast or a scrumptious supper for a poor and hungry family? The answer is Linas Hachesed-Jeusalem Open House located in the the Meah Shearim neighborhood of Yerushalyim. Each morning and evening, hundreds of needy children come by to pick up meals to feed there family. Anyone that needs a meal can stop in to there clean and fresh facility and enjoy a delicious meal.
This is only one of the services they provide. Linas Hachesed provides funds to help almonos (widows) marry there yesomim (orphans).
“Hundreds of Lakewood Yungelait could attest to the delicious shabbos meals they enjoyed at the home of R’ Chaim Cohen founder of Linas Hachesed-Jerusalem Open House back in there days in learning in Eretz Yisroel”, says one of the organizers of the event. “R’ Chaim is full of heart!”, he says. “Being in Yerushalyim several times a year, I stop in to Linas Hachesed’s headquarters, I’m fascinated each time over with the new innovative ideas they come up with to reach a higher level of chesed”.

not to bash on this important tzedakah, but what about the poor in Lakwood? Or the schools who cant survive because they arent getting paid tuition??
To # 1, you definatley have a point there, however the gemara already speaks about helping the poor and needy of Eretz Yisrol!
I thought the hungry in israel were fed by all those orgs, which print those expensive glossy color brochures which come weekly to our doors.Ii guess now there is another org !
#1 you do have a point, but just to eleborate what #2 was saying. R’ Chaim Filaga Zt’l says that aniyei eretz yisroel has a din like aniyei ircho.
If Linas Hachesed, and Bambi, and Kupat Hair, and Vaad Harabonim, and, and and and are feeding the poor in E”Y, why did I have 3 Meshulachim from E”Y this afternoon alone. I want to help out talmidei chachomim and I want to help out Aniyei E”Y, but I owe tuition from when my husband was laid off, I owe my shul dues, and I have kids to marry off. I give to the individuals at my door and in shul. Do I have to give the orgs also?
Maybe the system is flawed. Torah eem derech Eretz. Job training ?
‘Old timer’ you sound like someone with a big heart who’s going through a hard time like so many of us due this terrible recession. May the RBSO give you all that you desire. May your husband find a really great paying job and may you marry off your kids with no financial worries. Brocho v’Hatzlocho.
