Toms River Mayor investigating turning light which only allows 3 vehicles to turn per cycle

Toms River Mayor Mo Hill says a turning light recently rescheduled is being investigated.

Residents in the area of Whitesville and Route 70 said the turning light only allowed for three vehicles to turn during each cycle, causing severe backups.

Residents brought it to the attention of Mayor Mo Hill who acknowledged the light indeed only allows for three vehicles to turn, and says the TRPD and NJDOT will be looking into it.

  1. And while were on the subject, any reason Madison and Kennedy doesn’t have a green left arrow…? How about James and Rt 9…? How about Rt 9 and central…? Anyone? Just wondering….

  2. It’s an old issue that has only gotten worse since last weeks adjustment. At times white-collar is backed up almost a mile ( traveling south bound to rt 70)

Also traveling west on rt 70 coming to Whiteville the should have made a right turn lane Instead of a stripped white lane ( which is used as a ticker producer for all who even dare touch the stripped lines). Instead one needs to make a dangerous sharp right turn from what is really a center part of the road. And mind you that makes more traffic back up on rt 70.

  3. Same thing happened in Jackson a few weeks ago on brewers bridge and south cooks bridge this is criminal mischief and should have the book thrown at him.

  4. Maybe the light was tweaked based on how many cars would get through in Lakewood. In Lakewood as long as it’s green make sure you get into the intersection and you get to go. Plus an extra one or 2 cars get to tag along.. also you’re supposed to tailgate the car In front of you…
