ALERT: A bochur is collecting in Lakewood claiming that he’s a chosson. He does not have an Ishur from Tomchei Tzedakah and is a fraud. There is at least one confirmed case of him stealing. (He asked the person if they could make him a tea and stole a wallet when he was left alone in the room.) Description: Short, Average complexion, No beard, Claims his name is Cheshin (it isn’t), Claims his kallah is Tzipi Cheshin from Neveh Yakov. Tomchei Tzedakah generally doesn’t issues ishurim to Bochurim but does issue them to Chassanim (when verified). If someone doesn’t have an ishur, you should ask yourself “why?”.

I would hesitate to brand soemone as a thief unless the person’s wallet was found on this person and it is confirmed that he took it. Perhaps the owner of the wallet misplaced his wallet?
is it true that it cost $60 even if they will only be around for a day or two? that could be your why right there
to bas devorah dont be so naive and besides i know the details in this case and the details were just shortened in the article but of course they caught him red handed
Sounds like midas sdom. Is a bochur not a yid?
why should they charge $60 for an ishur? It should be free if this organization is lshem shmayim. Remember these are poor people collecting who have to come on to bais hatavshil etc…
They had to pay their airline ticket, too. This is part of the expenses of raising money. Believe me, the honest collectors like the Ishur system. They don’t feel like people suspect them that way. And did you notice how many of the strange people who used to come around all the time years ago (mostly Russians) have disappeared??
If they caught him red handed, is he still going around collecting? If he comes to my house, I’ll ask him if he knows some of my relatives in Neve Yaakov.
his name is cheshin and so is his kallah????!!
sounds illegal? possibly a coincidence but if hes making up buba maises why didnt he choose two different names??
Herschel for mayor!!!!!
How does herchel fit into this story??
Because Herschel is in charge and he owns Lakewood!!!
i asked a meshulach and he tells me he paid $27 for his ishur. he says he has come to lakwood 5 or 6 times in the last 17 years and ever since lakewood has an ishur he’s done better here.
I have heard that meshulochim use the Lakewood Ishurim in Brooklyn and people feel comfortable giving because they know someone checked into them .
He came to my door, I gave him a dollar. I figured he’s a fraud but I gave him anyway.

#14 check your wallet.
I think he came by yest. He didn’t have an isshur but showed me a signed letter (I can’t remember which rov). I knew they don’t issue ishurim to bachurim and therefore gave him anyway. Does anyone know if the story he gives is: his father has one kidney and is weak and therefore can’t go collecting?
I just had one come to my odor with a letter from Parshas Toldos with the story that he is a Chosson, and his father is sick. The letteer stated that they do not give an isshur to bochurim, I was not sure if he was legit and felt bad not giving him anything, about 2 minutes later another bochur came with the same type of letter also from Parshas Toldos, felt bad sending him away too. A couple of things: firstly I thought an isshur is only valid for a short type and Parshas toldos was a while ago and secondly it was strange that 2 people cam ewiht same paper about 2 minutes apart unless he had someone else coming since he thought then we would give. When he was questioned why it is so old he responded he did not want to get a new one, etc.. something definately smells fishy here!!
