Finally, some stability. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority announced that for the eighth year in a row, tolls will not be raised on the Garden State Parkway or the New Jersey Turnpike, both of which are under its jurisdiction. The commissioners passed a $1.8 billion budget for fiscal year 2020, but said a projected increase in traffic on the roads, leading to increased revenues.
The announcement comes as a relief to New Jersey drivers who already pay some of the highest tolls in the country, and are being hit soon with increased rates on multiple bridges and tunnels in New Jersey and New York.
