Misaskim Asifa 2012 crowdUpward of 30,000 children will participate today in the annual Tehilim Asifa for a refuah sheleimoh for cholei yisroel in an event coordinated by Misaskim. In addition to the thousands of children from over 30 yeshivos who will participate in the asifa at the huge Bobover Bais Medrash in Boro Park, thousands of  other children will be part of the event through live audio hook-ups in many parts of the US and throughout the world. It will be streamed live on TLS, and will also be available to listen live on Kol Mevasser 212.444.1100.

The Tehilim Asifa is an event that unifies children from disparate backgrounds and from locations around the globe with the sole purpose of imploring the Ribono shel Olam to have mercy on the many cholim who need a refuah sheleimoh. The Tehilim Asifa has been taking place every year since 1993. As in past years, this year’s Tehilim Asifa is expected to be an emotion-filled gathering with the highlight being the youngsters crying out in unison “Shlach Refuah Shelaima and Shma Yisroel”. The children will recite  six kapitlech tehilim on behalf of cholim (13, 20, 79, 121, 130, 142) followed by Mincha , Avinu Malkeinu lead by Harav Don Segal, Harav Yitzchok Tyrnauer Shlita, Rav of Shomer Shabbos Shul in Boro Park, Shlosh Esrei Middos lead by Harav Simcha Bunim Ehrenfeld Shlita, Matisdorfer Rav,  and Kabbolas Ol Malchus Shomayim led by Harav Yecheskel Roth shlita, Karlsburg Rav, and Oleinu. Although the asifa in the Bobover Bais Medrash is exclusively for children, all Jews are being urged to take a few moments of their time to say tehilim at the appointed hour as their way of participating in the tefillos of thousands of children.

“The tefillos of the children will no doubt reach the heavens and hopefully result in the full recovery of so many sick in our community, particularly children,” a Misaskim spokesman said. “The sight of thousands of children imploring the heavens for mercy for sick children and adults is heart-rending and a remarkable demonstration of unity in klal yisroel.”
