Blood bank inventories at our state’s hospitals have dropped to uncomfortably low levels.
During the summer, fewer people are available to donate, but patient needs often rise due to trauma-related incidents. With high schools and colleges closed, families on vacation, and other summer commitments taking priority, donating blood is often overlooked. As a result, it becomes extremely difficult to collect enough blood and platelets to meet patient needs.
A community blood drive will be held on Tuesday, August 12, at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Auditoriums A & B, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Appointments can be made using the provided link or QR code, or by calling Bikur Cholim at 732-905-3020.
