TLS Hosts ‘Sponsor-a-Seder’ Fundraising Web-a-Thon On Behalf Of Kupas Kimcha D’Pischa Of Tomchei Shabbos

tls webathon[DONATION LINK] For the first time ever, TLS is hosting a fundraising Web-a-Thon. Although it’s only a week since many donated for a recent urgent cause via our website, we’re reaching out to our dedicated readers to assist us in helping this extremely worthy organization in Lakewood.

As we all know, the astronomical costs of making Pesach can break the budget even for many hard working breadwinners who manage to get by on their own, year-round.

With its finger on the pulse of Lakewood, The Lakewood Scoop strongly identifies with the pain and suffering of so many heads of households in the community, who have either lost their jobs, taken a severe pay cut or are reeling from other financial setbacks as a result of the spiraling economy.

We have therefore undertaken to host a three-week Web-a-Thon fundraiser, from now through Pesach, on behalf of Kupas Kimcha D’Pischa– Lakewood’s largest and most encompassing Pesach distribution fund administered by Tomchei Shabbos. Visitors to TLS are able to pledge or donate directly from our Web-a-Thon portal, 24 hours a day. (A fundraising thermometer has been set up on our home page, keeping all our visitors informed of the Web-a-Thon progress).

In addition to their regular sponsorship options, Kupas Kimcha D’Pischa is introducing a new Sponsor-a-Seder program, which provides donors of $118 and above the opportunity to underwrite a family’s entire Pesach Seder.

The first 5 Sedorim, were sponsored by TLS.

Kupas Kimcha D’Pischa provides some 500 families in our community with all Yom Tov food essentials, from wine and matzoh to fish, meat, poultry, potatoes, produce, canned goods and more. The size and scope of the Pesach distribution effectively makes Kupas Kimcha D’Pischa an organization onto itself, with its own staggering, half-million dollar budget.

Kupas Kimcha D’Pischa is 501(c)3 tax-deductible charity.

To donate now online, click here.

If you wish to donate via check, you can do so by sending a check payable to ‘Kimcha D’pischa Fund’ to 212 2nd Street, Suite 403, Lakewood NJ 08701. Or, you can call in to 732-367-4323.

Thank you.

  1. Way to go! I commend TLS for undertaking such a important project. Every single resident of lakewood has to have arvus for everyone else. We can’t just rely on such devoted askonim as rabbi trainer to make sure the needed funds are raised. Rather we must all take achrayis for our brethren and donate early and often to make sure everyone has enough to eat in a respectable manner this pesach. When we say kol dichfin, we can mean it.

  2. i would like EVERYONE to know that this organization is whats holding the community together at the seams!!! I am one the unfortunate ones that needs the help all year and without it I would not be able to exist.
It’s not only what they give but also HOW its done.
Anyone reading this stop for a moment and close your eyes and just think of all your neighbors relatives, friends, etc EVEN THE ONES WITH NICE HOUSES AND CARS!!!!!! Many of those people are on the recieving line from tomchei shabbos.
Ay’h the ribono shel olam will help that I (and the rest ) will be zoche to become one of the supporters of this great tzdakah, but untill then I want to thank you all for your support.
    yeshalem hashenm lachem kigmulchem hatov!

I am a loyal long time reader, but I still don’t understand why it wasn’t posted & what is so sensitive about my opinion? (I am starting to have 2nd thoughts about your website.)

  4. Tomchei Shabbos is a great org. & Rabbi Trainer does a great job I gave them a donation.

(Please post my original comment, I believe it will be very helpful to a lot of people)

  5. I am unfortunatly a long time recipient of Tomchei Shabbos (how I wish I could be a supporter instead!). I want to publicly thank all who support this most worthy of causes. It is no guzma for me to tell you that the matzav is soo bad that I know of one case where a child went to bed hungry for lack of food. The Father (me) couldn’t get food stamps at the time and it was only through an act of chesed on the part of the storeowner that I was able to get by. We are a long time lakewood family and after being layed off from my job, are having an impossible time making ends meet. I thank Hashem always for Tomchei Shabbos, and all the food related tzedaka activity that we soo desperatly need.
Beleive me, your contributions go a long way. Without Tomchei Shabbos i would hate to think what Pesach would look like. Please Donate. Tisku L’Mitzvos
