why is this not working?
Waaaaay overhyped Hurricane Home Depot sponsored by WalMart
I think the poll should read as follows:
“Did you see a single Lakewood Police Car during the Hurricane”?!
but this poll is not working. A cause of the hurricane perhaps 🙂
waah. I only saw one police car. of course I only ventured out once and only to the corner, where a police officer was standing, OUTSIDE his vehicle, making sure the surrounding citizens were safe. Great job, LPD, don’t let the nasty whiners get under your skin.
I do not understand this question. As of now they report 32 death, 2 alone are jewish neshomos. That in it of itself should show that this was a MAJOR tragedy. We lost two worlds! Just because there arent dead people in the hundreds, its suddenly overhyped?! why cant we all just say, Thank you Hashem for sparing us! Boruch Hashem and leave it at that. What would we have said if Lakewood chas vesholom would look like Vermont. Just because its not our houses and our businesses and our schools its suddenly no big deal??!! Many people still have no power and I am sure these kids are scared and traumatized! Lets just leave it at being grateful that it was not worse!
People died, houses are flooded and evacuated, Many are without electric, and this is with Irene not even packing its full punch, so I do not think it was overhyped, I am thankful that we were not in the eye of the storm.
Two Jewish Neshamos were lost……… was Not overhyped.
were you at looking for the police cars?
We need to thank the lakewood residents who tried so hard to help each other its a gevaldiga zechus and chesed, once again the lakewood chesed is gevaldiga gevaldig
What did you want? The police to stop the wind and rain?
Listen- if they wouldnt have overhyped… ppl wouldt hae taken it seriously and it could have caused disasters of all kinds and then everyone would start having tantrums calling names like the bloomberg snow storm this yr.
Better be more prepared and it not be as bad as could be then not be prepared and get hit with catastrophe.
It was the responsible thing to do and I commend all officials that gave the warnings and helped many to stay as safe as can be.
THANK YOU!
the state did a great job
of course it wasn’t hyped
just because the storm fizzled out when it reached ocean county doesn’t mean that it was over hyped. It could of went the other way and caused dozens of mini tornadoes to suddenly appear throughout lakewood and aurrounding towns,
lets not criticize our weather people but rejoice in our good luck
lets not forget the storm was responsible for about 25 deaths in other areas of the state.
correction ,the 25 deaths included other states in the path of the hurricane.
to # 3 why would a police car sit anywhere while a hurricane is around ? they can be hurt as well. They would only come out when a 911 call or other emergency call comes in.
otherwise they would be on standby !
The lakewood police did come out to rescue two men stuck on brook road in 3 feet of water. lol
The police were out there as well as chaveirim thank u both
Enough of this “over-hype” thing already! Do you really think that the officials who said to evacuate were acting maliciously?? They did it for our safety! Are you upset that the storm wasn’t worse?(There are still plenty of people without any power!) They told us to act according to the info that they had. I don’t think that the hurricane association gets a cut from wal-mart, or home depot.
The more that you knock these guys for trying to help you out, you’re just setting yourself up not to be able to listen to their instructions in the future, and you may just find yourself in a lot of trouble at one time or another. Just remember, think positively. It will help you out a lot in life. All these people were not out to get you.
TLS I like your site, but this is not appropriate. The media is talking about over 30 death and we lost 3 of our own. That is a MAJOR tragedy and no hype! Many people have lost their homes and businessess and just because it is not our own its not that bad?! We need to just say THANK YOU HASHEM that you spared us from even more tragedies and leave it at that. Are we already so drama hungary that if a hurrican doesn’t turn out as bad as it was broadcasted we are upset!!
this hurricane was not a joke and not over rated, people died, we were just very fortunte that we were not hit so hard and yes the LPD and community services did their utmost. Thank you and we should all thank God
loading…
i dont think it was overhyped ? at all… many places were hit hard and we all know of some tragedies that occured. Nobody knew for sure the path it was going to take. Its called “rather be safe than sorry”.
There were police out there I know i saw them in my neighborhood a couple times..just because you don’t see them doesn’t mean they are not there. PD works 24/7 365…they are always there
To #3
Why were you out looking for them when you should have been indoors? I did see them-FROM MY HOME WINDOW!
Still No electric in Westgate. 3 nights without electric is not over hyped.
who cares if the police were out or not during the hurricane, they’re human beings too, and it wasn’t safe for anyone to be outside. you commenters on here are always looking for something to complain about, take a chill pill please
Thank you LPD for leaving your families and going out to protect and serve the ingrate #3. Yes, #3, if you needed a cop he/she would have been there to assist you and fools like you who went out and they would have put their lives on the line to save you.
The people who are saying it is overhyped have no clue what is going on around town and around the state. These are the same poeple that didn’t know there was a hurricane coming.
It is always better to be more cautious than not. It’s worth the few dollars to ensure ones’ safety and well-being. And well said, Yid. These people calling it over-hype are under-sensitive and have their heads buried in the sand (whatever is left of it). Tell the 40 people who lost their lives how hyped it was; tell that to the people who lost thousands of dollars in property damage; take a look at the video coverage from Windham, NY and Battlesborough, VT.
Just another case of “as long as nothing happened to the almighty ME” syndrome.
I’m still without power!!
what a nebby poll. it cant be overhyped if its a forecast , noone knows what will be how will hit and so on. wtvr they suggested was precautionary and wtvr happened happened. and bh!!! you can put a poll how many of you thanked hashem for sparing us serious damage instead of being bizy thinking so crazy how was a hype for nothing!
WHAT !! overhypped are you kidding get out of your own little world and look arround at not only in NJ but all the other state that had huge amounts of devistation from No Carolina to Vermont !!!!
