Three Patients Treated After Being Pulled from Ocean in Mantoloking [PHOTOS]

As first reported on TLS Status, three patients are being treated after being pulled from the ocean in Mantoloking today.

The incident happened around 5:30 PM while a local family was spending the afternoon at the water.

Emergency personnel were called by several callers when they saw an adult and two children become submerged in the water.

It’s unclear at this time who saved the patients, but all of them were conscious when they were pulled from the water.

Hatzolah and other EMS agencies responded to the scene.

Following our report, the County released the following message:

”Please stay out of the water as there are no lifeguards on duty at most beaches along the Jersey Shore.”

I want to point out that the waves at Mantoloking Beach are highly hazardous. They are enormous and have a powerful current that sucks everything in with it. I do not find this to be the case at other beaches like Point Pleasant Beach. I had a scary incident at Mantoloking Beach this past May when I was at this beach. I sat as far back from the water as possible against a dune. I turned my head away from the water for a minute when seemingly out of nowhere, a tremendous wave came and pulled my phone, car keys, pocketbook, beach bag full of pails, and shovels, shoes, slides and socks out to sea. I bH managed to get my phone, keys, and pocketbook back, but the current was so strong I could only stare helplessly as the rest of my items were pulled further and further away from the shore. I cannot understand why so many frum families bring their kids to this beach- it is not safe! Go to Pt. Pleasant or Belmar, where the waves are calmer! And never venture into the water when lifeguards are off duty.
