Three incumbents, one newcomer file for Lakewood Board of Education seats

Four people filed to fill four seats on the Lakewood Board of Education.

The deadline to file was 4PM today.

As earlier reported, in Lakewood, four seats were open. The seats are currently held by Moshe Bender, Moshe Tendler, Chanina Nakdiman and Heriberto Rodriguez.

Filing for re-election for three-year term seats, were Moshe Bender, Chanina Nakdiman and Heriberto Rodriguez. Tendler did not file.

Shlomie Stern, a newcomer, filed to fill the unexpired one-year term held by Tendler.

“I’m looking forward to joining the Board,” Stern told TLS. “I know the troubles first hand, and hope to be able to make a difference for both public and nonpublic school children.”

Stern served as volunteer with Lakewood Bikur Cholim for approximately 15 years, and currently serves on a local first aid squad.

Board of education elections are held together with the November 6 General Election.
